The Mesh, a networking platform for sharing ideas, will this Saturday hold its fourth anniversary at Chez Zandi in Belgravia, Harare.
This year’s edition will be sponsored by iHelp and is a fusion of live music, constructive dialogue and food, which enables people of diverse capabilities to interact in a relaxed environment.
It is also a platform of networking of young adults sharing ideas encouraging each other in terms of business and social relations through music and dialogue.
Speaking to The Herald Arts, assistant events manager, Nyaradzo Nonnie Matanga, said they selected participants who are capable in their respective areas.
She said people were living in a digital era where technology was a pre-requisite.
“We live in a day and age where your network is your net worth,” said Matanga. “It is also vital for one to know how to build and maintain a brand, especially in this digital era.
“We have nominated people who are active or influential in some field of endeavour to network and sharing skills and ideas. Both male and female young adults are eligible. Our mission is; to gather thought leaders, movers and shakers, and people from every culture and discipline, and make great ideas accessible.
“We have a pool of Zimbabwe movers and shakers we invite and we select them according to the theme for each edition.”
This year’s edition is running under the theme, “Building Networks, Building Brands”
Matanga said they were cleared by the police to host this year’s edition, which will be held in line with the Covid-19 prevention guidelines of not more than 50 people in attendance.
“Safety measures we have taken to ensure that we don’t spread the virus in partnership with Chez Zandi our host are that we have put in place sanitising machines at all entrances, and the place is set in a social distancing enabling criteria,” she said.
“Our gathering will observe the Covid-19 prevention guidelines. We will not exceed 50 participants and we have also been cleared by the police to hold The Mesh.
“For the past four years in all our editions, we have hosted quite a number of movers and shakers from different industries. We have invited talent such King Her, Bryan K and Ronald the Poet.
“There is going to be a panel of facilitators on the day, which includes SendItToo chief executive officer Takwana Tyaranini, Creative Group ZW sales director Natasha Burnett, who is also a model and an influencer, and we have also invited Michael Chingosho, the chief executive officer of Accelary Motors, Jerry Nyazungu, CEO of M&J Group as well as Samantha Sibanda who is the Founder of Signs of Hope Trust.”
