A 15 –year-old juvenile from Plumtree allegedly fatally stabbed a rival with a knife in a row over a boyfriend.
The incident took place in Magodi village in the border area.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Nyathi, confirmed the incident.
“Police in Plumtree arrested a female juvenile (15) for a murder case where she fatally stabbed another woman (21) with a knife at Magodi Village, Plumtree after a misunderstanding over a boyfriend.” Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said.
He also said a 17-year-old juvenile from Binga stabbed his friend to death with a knife to settle a long-standing grudge.
“In a similar case, a male juvenile (17) was arrested in Binga on March 18, 2022, in connection with a case of murder where he stabbed his friend (17) with a knife. The suspect later attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself on the throat with a knife and consumed a pesticide” he said.
Another case of murder took place in Gwanda in March.
“Meanwhile, on March 20, 2022 police in Gwanda arrested Prosper Sibanda (26) in connection with a case of murder which occurred in Sitezi Village on March 18, 2022. The suspect, together with eight other accomplices who are still at large, fatally attacked the victim (22) at his girlfriend’s house after an undisclosed misunderstanding,” said police.
