NEW: 2,1 million cholera vaccines administered in Zimbabwe’s hotspot areas

A cumulative 2 121 784 vaccines have been administered in Zimbabwe’s hotspot areas since the beginning of the vaccination campaign on January 29, 2024.

According to latest data from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the 2,1 million vaccines had been administered across the country as of February 24, 2024.

Zimbabwe was allocated about 2,3 million doses by the International Coordinating Group on Vaccine Provision.

Zimbabwe had recorded 26 348 suspected cholera cases, 2 703 confirmed cases, 25 599 recoveries and 71 confirmed deaths as of February 27, 2024.

The ongoing campaign is expected to reach 160 wards within 26 high-risk districts in Harare, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central, Manicaland, Masvingo and Midlands.
