NEW: 22 die in head-on collision

TWENTY-TWO people died while two others were seriously injured when a Toyota Quantum was involved in a head-on collision with a truck along Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway on Tuesday night, police have confirmed.

The fatal accident occurred around 10pm at the 27-kilometre peg along Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road, near Thandweni Store.

The Toyota Quantum had 21 passengers on board.

The injured people were admitted at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
