NEW: 32 stolen cattle recovered in Mozambique

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has recovered 32 cattle from Mozambique following a joint operation with their counterparts to curb stock theft in the two countries’ border areas.

In a statement, the ZRP revealed that the cattle stolen from Zamuchaya in Chipinge, were recovered in Mamutse in Mozambique.

The owner has positively identified the cattle.

The ZRP said they will continue working with Mozambican authorities to tackle cross-border crimes.

Meanwhile, police officers deployed on an operation to flush out illegal gold mining activities along Mutare River, Penhalonga, arrested 90 suspects for illegal mining activities.

“The arrest led to the recovery of an assortment of mining equipment, including wheelbarrows, shovels, submersible pumps, hammer mills, water pumps, and solar panels,” said the ZRP.
