NEW: 55 suspected cholera cases recorded

FIFTY-FIVE new suspected cholera cases were recorded countrywide on Monday, latest data from the Ministry of Health and Child Care shows.

One suspected death was also recorded, although no laboratory- confirmed results were reported.

The suspected cases were from Gutu (26), Buhera (10), Bikita (seven), Chipinge (five), Chiredzi (five) and Mutare (two).

Cumulatively, the country has recorded 5 030 suspected cholera cases, 963 confirmed cases, 4 794 recoveries, 31 confirmed deaths and 108 suspected deaths.

The national recovery rate is at 97 percent.
