NEW: AfCFTA boss heads for Zimbabwe

A top African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) executive will be in Zimbabwe for a three-day visit starting tomorrow.

Mr Wamkele Mene, who is the AfCFTA secretary general, is set to meet with President Mnangagwa, Government officials and key stakeholders from the private sector.

They are expected to discuss opportunities that await Zimbabwe in the largest free trade area in the world.

Mr Mene is also expected to deliver a keynote address at the ZimTrade Exporters’ Conference on October 7.

Zimbabwe ratified the AfCFTA agreement on May 24, 2019, becoming one of the earliest nations to embrace the deal.
