NEW: Civil Registry starts issuing e-passports, birth certificates in South Africa

The Civil Registry Department has commenced the issuance of e-passports and birth certificates in South Africa after setting up a bio-enrolment centre at the Zimbabwe Consulate in Johannesburg.

In a statement yesterday, the department said: “In addition to application for e-passports, the following services are also offered at the Consulate for the benefit of Zimbabwe citizens in South Africa.

“External birth applications, application of duplicate marriage certificates and non-marriage certificates and issuance of temporary travel documents.”
