Another locally produced comedy hits the big screen this festive season. With other comedies like “Sabhuku Vharazipi” and “Landlord” having achieved considerable success, a lot is also expected from this fun-packed comedy titled “Mabhodhi”. The comedy which was written by Michael Zuze and produced by Emmanuel Mawoko has a feature length of approximately 60 minutes.
Producer Mawoko said they are happy and expect the comedy to be one of the hottest productions ever produced in the country.

“We are very happy that finally our comedy is out. We tried to be very creative and entertaining to meet the basics principles of a comedy and we are anticipating that it will receive maximum viewers-hip
The humorous “Mabhodhi” articulates social issues that affect the society on a daily basis.

“It is about the main actor Mabhodhi who resembles much in character the late  Paraffin, is trying to earn a living out of selling bras and in the process he seduces some of the customers in the name of checking the ‘‘right size’’ for them.

“After being caught red handed he was chased away and found rescue at a funeral where he meets a guy called Penzura who introduces him to the ladies of the night and what happens next requires  you to watch the comedy ,” he said.

They are expecting to make series of the comedy to attract more viewership .
“If our pocket permits we would like to start making series of the comedy. We are trying to improve our content quality each time so that we can become one of the best comedy and film producers in Zimbabwe,” he said.

Some of the characters in the play used to act at Copacabana and Mawoko produced a non verbal comedy called “Crazy” in December last year  .
