COLONEL Kenson Carlos Dube has been appointed as the new Commander of 3 Infantry Brigade, taking over from Brigadier General Ernest Shamhu, who has been transferred to 1 Infantry Brigade in Bulawayo.
The handover and takeover ceremony was officiated by Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant General Walter Tapfumaneyi, at the 3 Infantry Brigade headquarters in Mutare this afternoon.
Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi praised both outgoing and incoming commanders, noting that they are accomplished officers, liberation war veterans, and founding members of the Zimbabwe National Army.

“The two commanders, whose changeover of command we are witnessing today, are high-calibre commanders of unquestionable loyalty and whose dedication to duty is beyond reproach. Both of them are founding members of the Zimbabwe National Army and are also veterans of the liberation struggle until their attestation in the Zimbabwe National Army at its inception in 1980. Since then, they have served in various capacities in the ZNA,” said Lt General Tapfumaneyi.
Brigadier Shamhu and Colonel Dube both said they were grateful for their new postings and would continue to serve diligently and protect the interests of the country.
The handover and takeover ceremony was attended by Government officials, the business community, chiefs Mutasa and Zimunya, among other invited guests.
