THE Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) — the Pan-African think-tank spearheading the Liberation City Project — says it has started constructing the country’s first-ever 360° rotating restaurant atop the fourth floor of the Museum of African Liberation in Harare.
In a statement, INSTAK said the restaurant will be the highest dining venue in Zimbabwe by altitude, offering panoramic views of the capital.
“This tourism and hospitality game-changer complements Liberation City’s educational, heritage and hospitality outlook,” reads the statement.
INSTAK said the construction of the Museum of African Liberation’s steel and concrete superstructure remains on track.
The contractor is expected to meet the completion target of April 30, 2026.
The rotating restaurant’s cylindrical design is inspired by traditional African clay pots, aligning with Liberation City’s cultural and architectural vision.
Describing the Museum of African Liberation as an enduring tribute to Africa’s liberation struggles, INSTAK highlighted continental support for the project.
“With support from His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Government of Zimbabwe, the project has attracted the endorsement and participation of more than 20 countries,” the statement added.
The Liberation City Project includes the Heritage Village, Liberation Mall, an African-themed amusement park, an animal park, a five-star hotel and world-class presidential villas, among other attractions.
