THE Harare City Council has deployed three fire tenders to battle the raging inferno at Magaba Complex in Mbare, Harare, which is one of the biggest hubs of economic activity by the informal sector.

In a statement early Friday morning, City of Harare said the Emergency Help Group had to provide tankers of water to help fire fighters trying to put out the flames.

“Three fire tenders have been deployed to fight the fire,” the local authority said in a terse statement on its social media handles.

“To avoid a situation where our fire tenders have to be driven back to the fire station to fetch more water, the Emergency Help Group provided tankers of water.”
