NEW: Dam levels increase

THE national dam level average had risen to 81 percent as of Monday, up from 74 percent recorded on December 20, 2023, due to recent rains being experienced across the country,  Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has said.

“The national dam level average now stands at 81, 3 percent. Significant improvements in Harare dams where Lake Chivero is now spilling,” Zinwa said in a statement.

According to the latest statistics, Chivero is 100 percent full, Mzingwane (5 percent), Upper Ncema (23 percent), Inyakuni (27,7 percent) and Insiza (59 percent) full.

Other dams include Tugwi Mukosi (86,4 percent), Lake Mutirikwi (95,1 percent) and Manyame (91,3 percent).
