A new drama series, “Eleven PM” is set to premiere on ZBC TV tomorrow.

This will be the first drama series from Masvingo to be aired on national television. It was produced by talented Edward Chombe who produced “Sabhuku Vharazipi 2” and “VaMayaya City of Corruption”.

Chombe said the 14-episode drama series is action-packed and tackles issues about the unorthodox ways young people engage in to become successful.

“It is an action thriller that focuses on the life of the youth trying to survive in a tough economy by doing dirty work until they get caught and all hell break loose. Eleven in the evening is just before midnight and probably the darkest hour of the night so I decided to name it “Eleven PM” to show the darkness of the world in this drama series,” said Chombe.

The leading character in the series is poet and 2013 Star Brite special category winner, Promise Mudavanhu.

“Eleven PM” was shot in some of Masvingo surbubs that included Mucheke and Rhodine and its production received fair sponsorship.

“We were very fortunate to have people who believed in us enough to sponsor the production. Masvingo City Council provided us with an ambulance and nursing uniforms so that our scenes looked real. Regency hotels, Paibwe restaurant also facilitated us with shooting space” he said.

The drama captures some criminal activities as well as problems faced by the girl child in their day to day lives.

Chombe said he tried to make the series genuine by producing original soundtracks instead of using existing songs.

“Everything in this drama series is ours. We produced the soundtracks because we also wanted to showcase some of Masvingo’s finest talents. You will also see some dancers, and singers in some of the episodes. All this was an effort to be original, while empowering young people,” he said.
