MANCHESTER UNITED have secured extra land to build a new 100,000-seater stadium.
United have acquired 25 acres from Indurent in Trafford Park, around 350 metres from Old Trafford.
United sources also insist the Freightliner land, which had been the previous focus, is not required for the new stadium.
The club are still in discussions to buy more land and senior sources do not anticipate any issues.
Sources say United acquired the land from Indurent, which bills itself as one of the leading developers and managers of industrial and logistics spaces in the UK, for market value.
The piece of land is located to the north-west of the stadium, situated between Wharfside Way, Europa Way and John Gilbert Way.
A masterplan for the Old Trafford regeneration is scheduled to be unveiled on July 9 and United will then move to the design phase in consultation with supporters.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said it was a “no-brainer” to rebuild Old Trafford on the same site after he invested in United in February 2024.
United unveiled the initial concepts for their proposed £2billion stadium in March 2025, targeting a 2030 move-in date.
That is now unrealistic but United are confident their new stadium would be ready to host the Women’s World Cup in 2035 – Sun.
