Extension officers from around the country recently underwent an online in-service training examination as Government seeks to increase the adoption of new technologies in agriculture.

Recognising top performers from the training on Monday, Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Dr John Basera said: “Technology is the future of agribusiness; embracing it means we have a great future of the sector.

“This in-service training app came as a backdrop to our efforts to capacitate extension services in Zimbabwe and we will continue doing so until we surpass our goals.”

The Zim-Agri Extension In-Service Training had over 4 000 participants who graduated countrywide.

The top performers were Tiisetho Mashila (Matabeleland North), McDonald Nyamuno (Midlands), Ennie Murungu (Mashonaland West), William Mushanawani (Manicaland) and Lovemore Mwanonoka (Manicaland).

They were best performers in the modules of field crops, horticulture, agribusiness and livestock production.
