Film director Moses Matanda is working on a new film titled “Eagles in the Hut” that is expected on screens soon.

Matanda who is famed for the ZBC TV series, “Dead End”, and “Zimbabwe Greatest Talent” programme shot the film in Harara, Masvingo and Eastern Highlands.

The one-hour long movie explores various issues concerning abuse of the girl child through following the life of Tariro (played by Florenco Masekesa).

“‘Eagles in the Hut’ is the movie to look forward to because of the storyline which portrays sexual and verbal abuse that happens to young girls, perpetrated by relatives. Tariro, an abused child, ends up committing crime because of the effects of abuse,” said Matanda

Matanda, who is known for unleashing young and raw talent has tipped one of the young actors from Mutare, Rhonia Chimbetete, to go far in the film industry through the potential she exuded during the shooting.

“Rhonia will definitely go far. She acted her heart out proving that Mutare has talent.

“To all aspiring actors and actresses out there, please note that acting is a passion. Don’t do it for money. Money will come later. Love it, live it and believe one day things will come to pass.

“Just know the basic skills of acting, throwing a punch, receiving a punch and salvage imaginations. Live in the moment truthfully,” said Matanda.

The movie, which was sponsored by Rudo Mudavanhu and Matanda, will première in theatres and Nhaka TV next month.

Matanda also had a role in the film as James, Tariro’s father.

He is an international actor who studied acting at KD Studios in Dallas, Texas, in the United States.

He appeared on “Call of Duty Movie” and TV series and “Real Prison Break”. He also studied Film Arts Production at Toronto Media and Film College.
