NEW: Govt to appoint interim admin for PSMAS

GOVERNMENT will appoint an interim manager for Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) and has since informed members of the medical aid to attend a special general meeting to be held at the end of this month.

In a statement, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care Dr Aspect Maunganidze said the decision has been made in accordance with the law.

“Secretary for Health and Child Care, as the regulator of Medical Aid Societies, hereby notifies, in terms of Section 26 of Statutory Instrument 330 of 2000, Medical Services (Medical Aid Societies) Regulations, that a PSMAS Special General Meeting will be held on November 30, 2023, at 9am, at Harare International Conference Centre, Rainbow Towers Hotel, in Harare,” reads part of the communique.

“The purpose of the Special General Meeting is to appoint an interim manager for PSMAS, which he has declared a defaulting medical aid society. By means of this notice, notification is made to all members of Premier Service Medical Aid.”
