THE Harare City Council says all individuals and entities must comply with the law when leasing land on servitudes and wetlands.

Said HCC Town Clerk Engineer Hosiah Chisango in a statement on Tuesday:

“The City calls upon all individuals, companies and organisations leasing land on servitudes and wetlands to ensure their operations align with designated land use regulations.

“In response to the President’s Call to Action, the City is desirous of ensuring maintenance of order, hygiene and compliance to legal statutes on all road servitudes, wetlands and open spaces.”

Eng Chisango said the city was going to undertake a vigorous compliance exercise to ensure sanity prevailed on all servitudes and wetlands.

“Those without valid lease agreements are required to vacate such places with immediate effect,” he said.
