NEW: Is ZIFA board back?

Online Reporter

THE suspended Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s board says it has fully resumed operations, basing on a technicality that they have an appeal against their suspension with the administrative court.

According to statement circulated by the ZIFA on Friday afternoon, the legal effect of the appeal is “to among other things immediately suspend the decision by the SRC to suspend the ZIFA board, meaning the ZIFA board is fully back by operation of law pending finalisation of the matter by the administrative court.”

The ZIFA board actually met on Thursday and discussed among other things the upcoming African Cup of Nations final preparations, the 2021 ZIFA Annual General Meeting, which is now set for December 30.

Revival of junior and grassroots was also given priority in Thursday’s meeting while Khama Billiat’s decision to quit international football was also discussed.

It was agreed that the star striker be engaged.
