NEW: Karoi-Binga Road accident claims five

FIVE people have died while others sustained severe injuries in a road traffic accident that happened at the 26km peg along Karoi-Binga Road on Thursday.

The accident involved a CAG bus and a Mazda B2200.

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road accident at 26km peg along Karoi-Binga Road on 4 January 2024, at around 1pm, when a CAG bus which was travelling along Magunje Road collided head-on with a Mazda B2200 with 15 people going the opposite direction,” said police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

“Three people from a Mazda pickup died on the spot while two others died upon admission at Karoi Hospital and ten others were severely injured,” he said.
