New kid on the block gospel artiste Tinotenda Katsande released his second album in July titled “Ndinogoneswa”. The seven-track album which contains four hymnal songs and three choruses was recorded at Innovators Studio and produced by Dzago Chatsama. Tinotenda states that the spirit-filled album will inspire gospel lovers to change their ways and strengthen their relationship with God.“The album is all about inspiring people to love God and to do godly things,” said Tinotenda.

Coming from the Methodist Church background, Katsande was inspired to do songs that relate to his church.

He said, “Most of the songs are songs that you have heard before but I have added the instrumental element so that they are palatable.”

“Since I am only starting, I wanted to give out something that the audience is familiar with so that they will easily accept new music from me in the future,” he added.

The album features his five-member band called “Internal Worship” who sing with him and also play instruments. However, the road has not been smooth sailing for Katsande who is struggling to market his new album.

“People are buying but I have no manager or marketing team due to finances so I have only dropped one CD at ZiFM and is still to receive airplay,” Katsande bemoaned.

Katsande is self-employed and sales merchandises from Tanzania. He released an album last year in February but it did not do well.

“One of my mentors at church laid out songs for me and I only had to put my voice but personally I was not happy with the album,” Katsande said, adding that church members bought most of the CDs.

Katsande started singing at an early age but only ventured into gospel music when he joined the Methodist Church.
