ZIMBABWEAN real estate firm Craft Properties Holdings recently participated at the Middle East Energy (MEE) 2026 conference in Dubai, aiming to unlock foreign direct investment, source renewable energy technologies and form strategic partnerships for Southern Africa.

Founder and group chief executive officer Professor Kudakwashe Taruberekera attended the 50th-anniversary summit held from September 1–3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The conference, organised by the Dubai government, convenes global energy leaders, technology providers and institutional financiers.

The event’s central themes were on solar, hydro and gas power generation, green hydrogen, smart grid infrastructure, as well as public-private partnerships (PPPs).

“We were in Dubai not just to attend, but to deliver,” said Prof Taruberekera.

“Our duty is to bring back investment, technology and opportunities that will transform communities and support National Development Strategy 2.”

He said the firm’s key objectives at MEE 2026 included securing affordable solar, battery storage and mini-grid solutions for housing developments, schools and commercial sites, including pitching major Zimbabwean real estate and infrastructure projects.

In addition to exploring prospects for building ties with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors to support projects across Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa, the company also sought to leverage its registration with Dubai authorities and its status as a UN-registered supplier since 2019 to expand trade links between the United Arab Emirates and Southern Africa.
