Comedienne Felistas Maruta – popularly known as Mai TT – was sentenced to nine months in prison for theft of trust property.

The State successfully proved that Maruta surrendered a hired car as collateral to a loan shark, before claiming it back and tendering an invalid passport in its stead.

For the latest offence, she will serve six months in prison.

Meanwhile, in 2015, Maruta was supposed to serve three months in jail for defaulting on community service, which have been added to her sentence.
