NEW: Mazowe eyes local, international investors

Over 200 local and international companies will converge for the Mazowe District Business and Investment Conference tomorrow, which seeks to showcase investment opportunities in Mashonaland Central.

Mazowe, which is the gateway to the province, is rich in natural resources and has massive potential to develop in line with the Second Republic’s rural modernisation drive.

Mazowe Rural District Council chief executive officer Mr Liberty Mufandaedza said the district’s economy could potentially grow to US$25 billion if its full potential is exploited.

“According to the local authority, profiling done by the Commonwealth Local Government Fund, the full value of all our natural resources and our capabilities can reach up to US$25 billion,” he said.

“So, this investment conference seeks to reach out and invite potential investors to come to Mazowe. The area is rich in so many natural resources.”

He added that there are also plenty of other opportunities in ICT, agro processing, tourism, real estate, manufacturing, infrastructure development, health and education.

“The conference has also attracted our neighbouring districts from across the whole province. This was after the success of the last investment conference that we held in 2019.”
