Online Reporter

A man from Highfield, Harare, is in hot soup after he was caught stashing two packets of meat into his trousers at OK Mart in Hillside last week.

Tafadzwa Vhindiku appeared before magistrate Ms Talent Gara charged with theft.

Vhindiku admitted to the charges and is expected back in court on Monday for sentencing.

The State, led by Mrs Polite Chikiwa, said on July 21 at around 6pm, Lucas Mudheme, an OK Mart employee, monitored Vhindiku as he went around the shop’s aisles.

Mudheme then spotted Vhindiku stashing two packets of meat inside his trousers.

The court heard that Vhindiku passed the till point without paying, which prompted Mudheme to alert the security guard.

The meat, valued at US$16.65, was recovered.
