THE Government has commissioned a refurbished nine-body US$30 000 mortuary at Shurugwi District Hospital.

The new mortuary was constructed courtesy of US$30 000 financial assistance from Chengetai Cheng Xi Investments

Unki Mines also contributed a solar inverter and four 48-volt lithium batteries, while Shurugwi Town Council donated US$ 1,000, which went towards the procurement of a solar backup armored cable.

Commissioning the mortuary, the Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Owen Ncube, said the rehabilitation scope of works included the installation of new cold room equipment, new doors, and painting.
