Up-and-coming musicians M.G HKh and Romana Rose have teamed up on a new single, “Mazuva Aya”, a song that reflects on life’s realities and the relentless hustle of today’s youth.

The two artistes met through the Harare Music Circuit, and they bonded over their shared desire to challenge cultural biases in the local scene.
“Mazuva Aya,” which loosely translates to “These Days”, is a natural fusion of their different styles, as M.G HKh’s raw, trap-influenced delivery meets the melodic Afro Beat and R&B textures that Romana Rose is known for.
It explores the weight of time, the immense pressure to succeed amid social hurdles and the importance of staying authentic. While the lyrics do not shy away from hardship, the core message remains one of resilience. It is a soundtrack for the “now”, designed to help listeners navigate their current struggles while keeping their eyes on a better tomorrow.
M.G HKh’s path into music was forged by personal tragedy. After losing both of his parents in a road accident, he turned to songwriting as a way to process grief and manage his mental health.
Influenced by the melodic “pain music” of American artiste Rod Wave, M.G HKh blends the heavy energy of trap with deeply personal storytelling.
This approach has helped him transition from an underground artiste to a staple on major stations like Star FM.
