ZIMBABWE has received a timely boost ahead of their tour to Australia as seamer, Blessing Muzarabani, seems to have recovered from his thigh muscle tear.
He has been included in the 15-member squad for the three-match one-day international (ODI) that begins on Sunday.
The Chevrons left for Australia on Tuesday, with a relatively unchanged squad from the team that took part in the just-ended series against India.
“The fast bowler, who has fully recovered from a thigh muscle tear, is the only addition to the side that faced India in the just-ended one-day international series in Harare,” saidZimbabwe Cricket in a statement.
The duo of Tanaka Chivanga and John Masara remained at home, and are among the non-travelling reserves.
The quartet of skipper, Craig Ervine, Tendai Chatara, Wellington Masakadza and Milton Shumba, remain sidelined by hamstring, a collarbone fracture, shoulder tendon and a quadriceps muscle injury, respectively.
In Ervine’s absence, Regis Chakabva is set to continue as captain in the three ODI matches against Australia, with the games slated for August 28, 31 and September 3 in Townsville.
The series is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, a 13-team competition, which serves as the main route for direct qualification for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 to be staged in India.
