NEW: Ngezi Platinum Stars honours players

CASTLE Lager Premier League 2023 champions Ngezi Platinum Stars on Thursday honoured their outstanding players of the season, with Qadr Amini being named the team’s player of the year.

The award came barely a week after the utility player was crowned the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Soccer Star of the year last Friday.

For winning the player of the year award, Amini walked away with US$1 000.

Castle Lager Soccer Star finalists Nelson Chadya and Takunda Benhura were also awarded at the ceremony.

Benhura, who won the 2023 Golden Boot award, bagged the team’s top goal scorer accolade, and the Rookie player of the year award.

He walked away with US$800.

Chadya was named the most loyal player at the club, walking away with US$400.

The most disciplined player award went to Polite Moyo, while Leslie Kashitigu was named the most improved player, walking away with US$400 each.

Former Black Rhinos defender Gareth Madhake was awarded with the find of the season award, while Nesbert Muzenda was named the most promising player for the platinum miners.

They received US$400 each.

Kudzai Chigwida was named the player’s player of the year.

Chadya, Malvin Kwinjo, Marlon Mushonga and John Bonomali received the longstanding service awards having spent five years at the club.
