New online talk show hits market

Local models Delroy Benatar and Dayna Manuel have partnered in a new online talk show dubbed “Timeout with Double D”, which is being shot at Mudziyashe Lodge in Glen Lorne. The talk show, which is meant to give insight to guests, is being shot by Keith Reel. It is centred on musicians, designers, socialites, celebrities and business personnel among others that will be on spotlight as they get interviewed by the two hosts. In an interview Benatar said he was excited and it is a dream come true for them hosting the show.

“We planned this some months ago and we decided to come up with that name so as to market ourselves as well. In the talk show, we want to give people the right information and set the record straight, as you know social media has taken over and sometimes misleads people,” he said.

He said their first guest was Afro pop singer Thamsanqa Moyo affectionately known as ‘Tammy’.

“The show will be weekly and comes out every Friday around 7pm to accommodate everyone as we know now people are more glued to their mobile phones than television. We had Tammy on our first episode and it was awesome and we not only had to ask her questions but the good thing is we engage our viewers to send their questions,” he said.

Benatar said the show is not live.

“We record on Mondays and Tuesdays. Sometimes we do weekends depending with the celebrity’s schedule. So far we have done a couple of stars and we encourage those who so want to be at the show to get in touch with us. Our show is more of like real talk and we work with current news,” he said.

Benatar said they were inspired by societal settings to come up with such show.

“Plans are underway to take it to television as we are discussing with the production team. I can’t say much about the station we are going to take it to but we will update you on any developments. Good thing is we work with the hot news, those celebrities who are making strides in newspapers and television. We then invite them and cover the missing gap that was left in other media,” he said.
