NEW: Over 1 045 health facilities get solar systems

Online Reporter

OVER 1 045 health facilities across the country have been fitted with solar systems under the Solar for Health (S4H) project, which began in 2017.

The S4H project is being implemented by the Ministry of Health and Child Care through funding from the United Nations Development Programme’s Global Fund.

“To date, over 1 045 facilities have had solar systems installed under the S4H initiative,” said the Ministry of Health and Child Care in a statement.

“This has contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gas carbon emissions and improved operations in cold chain systems in hospitals and clinics, and in maintaining consistent power supply in health institutions and pharmaceutical warehouses in rural and urban areas.”
