THEY might have seen their unbeaten run come to an end courtesy of bogey side Arcadia Bucs, but JBC look to have their sights on the big picture, which is the successful defence of their Harare Basketball Association Super Six title.
The reigning champions put up a vintage performance when they dispatched Basket Hounds 72-56 at Sunrise Sports Club over the weekend.
The win put some breathing distance between themselves and second-placed Hounds, as they opened a three-point gap at the top.
After 13 rounds of action, the Addison Chiware-coached side now have 23 points from 12 games and still have a game in hand over the chasing pack.
Hounds are second with 20 points from 13 games while, Leopards Academy (20), Bucs (19), Mbare Bulls and UZ Stars wrap up the men’s standings.
JBC now has a chance to atone for their only blemish to the season when they take on the Bucs again at Sunrise Sports Club on Wednesday.
The highly anticipated encounter will be one of two matches on Wednesday night, as Bunnies also take on Harare City Hornets women.
Bunnies (16) and Harare City Hornets (12) currently anchor the women’s log standings, as they currently occupy the two relegation spots.
UZ Sparks remain the only unbeaten side in the whole league as they top the women’s standings with 24 points from 13 matches.
Defending women’s side Vixen are second with 23 points from the same number of games, while Blades (19) and Fillies (17) are third and fourth, respectively.
