Greetings beloved nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Exodus 12:2, “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” We see here God declaring a new year or a new season to the children of Israel in the midst of the year.
One thing I love about the scripture is that God said to them,
“This month shall be unto you the beginning of the month, it shall be the first month of the year to you”.
If we interpret it with our calendar today we may declare June as January.
I know we are halfway through the year and there is a lot that has happened in the past five months of this year 2023. A lot of challenges, disappointments, discouragements, failure of projects, and business plans have been put on hold.
For some your fire of prayer, your commitment to the things of the Lord is no longer the same as it was when you finished your January prayers, it has gone down. There is no longer that fire, maybe caused by discouragement or careless living.
The vision that you had for this year has become dim. Some have celebrated your birthdays and you are seeing your age advancing, but when you are looking at your life there is nothing that shows that you have advanced in age.
Many questions are ringing in your head even to the point of saying, “where is God”. For some maybe you are going through failed marriages, you are not seeing clearly, disappointed in relationships, and you have lost hope.
According to the law of the spirit when it comes to the new year or new month or a new day, there has to be a new experience that has to be seen in our lives.
Instead of going up, you are seeing yourself going down. It was so with the children of Israel.
The Bible says Israel stayed in Egypt for 430 years in Exodus 12:41. Just imagine God promised them that they shall be taken out from the land of captivity, but we see that they lived for 430 years and they were celebrating a new year but there were no new experiences in their lives for those many years.
Their lives were still stuck in the land of Egypt.
When they were celebrating a new year Heaven was not celebrating. But the moment when God announced the first month of the year to them in the midst of the month and God started to call that month that they were in as the beginning of the month, things started to shift for Israel.
I want to say to the nations of the world, to those that are believing for a change, a transformation, a speed in their lives, that God is announcing a new year, in spite of being in June. God is saying it is a happy new year because your life has to change. Celebration is coming, healing and deliverance, restoration, things that have been stolen from you by the enemy.
God is restoring it back, that fire of prayer, that commitment, that intimate relationship which maybe died somewhere in March or May. God is saying it is a happy new year.
Despite the years that you have gone through hoping, a thousand years to God is like a day. Allow him to revive your life, your giving and other areas.
May the spirit of God that breathes newness breath on you, may your life begin to experience a new year, in spite of our calendar being different from the calendar of God.
Let there be revival in that ministry, let there be restoration of finances in your life, let that business arise, let new doors open, a new job in the name of Jesus.
In the book of Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”
God is about to do a new thing and he is saying now. It’s a now anointing, it’s happening and its springing forth, he is making a way in the wilderness. There is a way God is opening in the places that are dry, in places that you have not imagined. He is making a way in that difficult situation, that place of confusion, in that place of dryness.
You may call it by name that it is a wilderness, it’s where God is bringing provision. We thank God for the wilderness experience because it’s where we see his power in that place and where we experience provision and rivers in the desert.
May fountains of waters in that desert experience begin to gush out so that you begin to drink because you are the chosen of God. I declare this month of June that it’s your happy new year.
When God announced a new year to Israel we see in the book of Exodus 12:35-36 that, “Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing.
36 And the LORD had given the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.” (i) Israel was given jewels of silver and gold and new clothes. (ii) We see them walking in favour in the sight of Egyptians.
The Bible says so that they lent unto to them such things as they required and spoiled the Egyptians.
The Egyptians had no choice but to favour them because God had declared a new year in their lives. Their masters became servants to them because of a new year.
Favour that they had never seen in their lives. Pharaoh bowing before them asking them to bless them. God is going to cause your enemies to bow before you because God has announced a new thing.
That which was hunting you, God is going to cause it to be hunted by you. The hunter shall become the hunted and the hunted shall become the hunter.
There is an exchange, those demons that were hunting your bloodline, your lives, you are turning back and hunting them in the name of Jesus Christ. Happy new year.
