NEW: Seh Calaz hails Manyuchi

ZIMDANCEHALL artiste Seh Calaz (Tawanda Mumanyi) was blown away by boxing star Charles Manyuchi’s numerous accolades when the two prominent figures met in Harare on Tuesday morning.

Manyuchi has won over 10 international belts in a career that began in 2009.

The 34-year-old boxer, however, has decided to call it quits.

He is holding a series of farewell bouts and will fight Jimmy “The Beast” Mabudji of DRC in Harare on November 25.

Before that, he will take on Alick Gogoda of Malawi in Chivhu on Saturday as part of his 34th birthday celebrations.

Seh Calaz will perform at both events.

“I have always been an admirer of Charles Manyuchi …

“He has worked hard to win a lot of belts. In fact, I didn’t know he had such a high number of belts, and I am humbled to be invited to sing at his boxing events,” he said.

“As a result (of my respect for Manyuchi), fans should expect fireworks.”

Manyuchi will effectively fight two bouts in a space of seven days, but he says he is ready for the task “as long as it means giving my fans a good farewell”.

“Even if it meant fighting twice in two days, I would have done it,” he said.

Manyuchi announced his retirement from the ring earlier this year, but will finally hang up his gloves after a series of farewell fights.

He started his professional career in 2009 and went on to win numerous belts, including the World Boxing Council Silver welterweight and World Boxing Federation middleweight titles.

Manyuchi now has a 26-4-1 record.
