NEW: Self-styled prophet arrested for python skin

POLICE in Harare on Sunday arrested a self-styled prophet for possessing a three-metre long python skin.

The suspect, who was identified as Comrade Chinaka, aged 43, is alleged to have stashed the python skin under the bed in Zengeza 3.

It was reportedly discovered by the prophet’s wife when she was packing their belongings to vacate the property after her husband was arrested for assaulting her.

“Police in Harare have arrested a self-proclaimed prophet, Comrade Chinaka (43), for possessing a python skin, approximately three-metres long,” said police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement.

“The python skin was found under the bed at the suspect’s house along Chipo Road, Zengeza 3, on September 24, 2023, as the suspect’s wife was packing their property to vacate the house following the arrest of the suspect for a case of assault.”
