FORMER Norton National Assembly member Temba Mliswa will officially launch his new resort and wellness centre in Karoi, Mashonaland West province, on Saturday.

Karoi is predominantly a farming town but has an impressive selection of tourist attractions.

The town is also a convenient stop-over for people travelling to the resort town of Kariba, Mana Pools or even Zambia.

Mliswa’s Spring Resort and Wellness Centre boasts of water-front chalets, a thatched restaurant , fully equipped gym and furnished rooms.

It is also being touted as a wedding venue.

The establishment was constructed a few years back but has received a new breath of life through renovations and special additions.

“This Saturday (November 18), the flamboyant athletic influencer and politician (Mliswa) shall be hosting various delegates to his new project that promises to shake Karoi to its core,” said Spring Resort and Wellness general manager Abigail Stephens in a statement.

“The facility boasts a gym with work-out machines and the services of Mr Mliswa as the coach for corporates to conduct team-building exercises.”

The tourism sector is currently on a rebound following a Covid-19-induced slowdown.

Government is encouraging players to spruce up their infrastructure to meet international standards.

“The project took on a new and much more luxurious turn. The lodge and restaurant is mainly run on solar energy and efforts to increase the capacity will be completed by year-end,” added Stephens.
