NEW: Tobacco farmers plant over 103 000 hectares

TOBACCO farmers have planted over 103 652 hectares for the 2023-24 summer cropping season, down from 108 897ha a year earlier.

According to a weekly report by the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB), 19 046ha are under irrigation, while 84 450ha are on dryland.

Meanwhile, 112 916 growers have registered with TIMB.
