THE late Ronald Mudimu has been described as a natural leader, a veteran and a prayer warrior.
Mudimu, a veteran goalkeeper who won two major Cups with Triangle, died on Sunday night and was buried at Zororo Cemetery near Chitungwiza on Wednesday afternoon.
Mudimu had been admitted at Harare Hospital after suffering a stroke, before going blind.
He was 33, and is survived by wife, Irene Ngoshi (33) and four children.
Triangle coach, Taurai Mangwiro, described Mudimu’s death as a big loss, not only for Triangle, but for the football fraternity as a whole.
“It’s a sad loss,” said Mangwiro.
“Mudimu was the club’s vice-captain, also the team’s longest serving member,” he added.
Mudimu won the One Wallet Cup and the Chibuku Super Cup with Triangle in 2013 and 2018.
Triangle captain, Collins Dhuwa, described the late Mudimu as “an honest man”.
“He was also a prayer warrior. Mudimu would wake us up even at midnight to pray.
“Anga asina kana problem nemunhu. Even if he was omitted from the team, he would not make a fuss out of it,” said Dhuwa.
Mudimu’s eldest child is writing her O’ Level exams next year.
“Ronald has left me these children and I pray that I will be able to look after them,” said Mudimu’s wife, Irene.
