TWIN brothers Kudzai and Takudzwa Wenhamo (26) were robbed of cash, phones and shoes after boarding a pirate taxi in Bindura on Sunday.

Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the incident.

“On June 18, 2023, at 7pm, complainant number one was in the company of his twin brother, complainant number two, at Bindura Show Grounds bus stop going to Harare.

“The two boarded a white Honda CRV, registration unknown.

“The motor vehicle had three occupants. Whilst inside the motor vehicle, the accused persons behaved like father and sons engaging in a family conversation,” said the police.

Upon arrival at Hamilton Farm, two accused persons, who were at the back, drew knives from the door panels and ordered the two complainants to bow their heads.

Kudzai and Takudzwa were ordered to surrender all their valuables.

One of the accused persons searched Kudzai and took US$900 from his wallet and a Samsung A04 cellphone, and ordered the twins to remove their shoes.

The twins were dumped and later assisted by a well-wisher, who took them to ZRP Mazowe, where a report was made at around midnight.

Police are still hunting for the suspects.
