NEW: Two die after vehicle plunges into Sebakwe River

TWO people died while two others were injured after a vehicle veered off the road and plunged into Sebakwe River, along the Harare-Masvingo highway, on Saturday.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the accident occurred at the 218-kilometre peg along the Harare–Masvingo Road, at Sebakwe River Bridge.

Police said a Mazda B1800 carrying four occupants reportedly veered off the road before plunging into the the river.

“The driver and a front-seat passenger died on the spot, while two passengers sustained injuries,” reads the statement.
