The Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe (UCAZ) has committed to addressing critical service delivery challenges, including improving water supply in municipalities, following its recent meeting in Bulawayo.

UCAZ acting president and Harare mayor, Councillor Jacob Mafume, told Zimpapers Online that the association was also seeking partnerships to enhance sports facilities in collaboration with ZIFA.

“One of the key resolutions from our meeting was to establish a working relationship with the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) to increase the supply of potable water to residents,” he said.

“We also resolved to engage with the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) to address road infrastructure issues and set service delivery benchmarks to improve efficiency across city councils.”

UCAZ’s renewed commitment aims to enhance urban management, ensuring municipalities provide residents with improved services and infrastructure.
