MEMBERS of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) are being encouraged to take advantage of empowerment programmes championed by President Mnangagwa to improve their livelihoods.

The President recently launched several empowerment initiatives for war veterans, including a US$2 million Presidential War Veterans Empowerment Scheme, which provides additional funding for war collaborators and their families through the War Veterans Revolving Fund.

These initiatives are part of a broader Government commitment to support war veterans, which also includes providing 100 tractors for agricultural projects and creating opportunities in housing, borehole drilling and land allocation.

ZNLWVA spokesperson Cde Cornelia Muoni confirmed that the association is updating its members across the country on developmental programmes and also hearing their concerns.

The association is holding a meeting in Mutuko, Mashonaland East province, today.

“The purpose of the meeting is to engage with war veterans in all the provinces. We have toured Midlands, Masvingo, Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, Manicaland and now it’s Mashonaland East,” said Cde Muoni.

“We want to hear the general feeling of the war veterans, empowerment programmes, their welfare, their health, fees for their children and land disputes.”
