Online Reporter

Wildlife ranger teams are preparing for the 2021 Wildlife Ranger challenge, a virtual race with the goal of raising money to support men and women across Africa that work in protected areas.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2021 run by Tusk Trust is a unique conservation initiative that is empowering and uniting wildlife rangers across the continent.

“Each dollar raised and step taken will be a leap toward bringing rangers back to pre-Covid 19 capacity,” said the organisers.

The challenge will take place virtually on 18 September, with thousands of rangers from 20 African countries expected to participate.

The challenge is supported by the Tusk Trust, a philanthropic fund established by businessman and philanthropist Mark Scheinberg.

Locally, the Hwange National Park Buffer Zone-Painted Dog Conservation and the Anti-Poaching Unit team have called for public support as they join forces with thousands of rangers from across the region.
