THE Financial Markets Indaba in partnership with Zimpapers Group’s Business Weekly will host the Financing Climate Change Adaptation-Investment Conference next month.

The event is scheduled for March 16 in Harare.

Notable speakers lined up for the event include Energy and Power Development Permanent Secretary Dr Gloria Magombo; Institute of Chartered Accountants president Mr Tumai Mafunga; African Risk Capacity CEO Mr Lesley Ndlovu; and Agricultural and Rural Development Authority CEO Mr Tinotenda Mhako, among others.

“Zimbabwe has a significant role to play in meeting climate mitigation objectives. The Government has committed to reducing emissions by 40 percent before 2030.

“The new target will see greenhouse gas emissions curbed to 44,7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO2e) by 2030, a reduction of about 30 million tonnes,” said the event organisers.
