NEW: Zimbabwe participates at NAM Youth Network Summit

ZIMBABWE is participating at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Youth Network Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, which commenced on Monday and ends Friday.

The summit is aimed at exchanging ideas, visions and perspectives on challenges faced by the youth in ensuring sustainable progress and how these can be overcome.

The country’s representative, Mr Abiel Mawere, said Zimbabwe and 58 other countries are deliberating the role of youths in promoting multilateralism, among other issues.

“Zimbabwe delivered a statement on the role of youth in promoting multilateralism and re-affirmed Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement drive to the international community through the continued empowerment of young people in different economic programmes,” he said.

Mr Mawere commended governments across the world for prioritising youth empowerment and participation.
