PLANS are underway for major new investments in premium hospitality that will bring world-class luxury hotels to Zimbabwe following a meeting today between President Mnangagwa and Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Dubai-based Emaar Properties — the developer behind global landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa.
Writing on his official X account, President Mnangagwa revealed that Mr Alabbar and an executive delegation will travel to Zimbabwe later this month to conduct site inspections and finalise project details.
“I had a highly productive working meeting with Mohamed Alabbar, the visionary founder of Emaar Properties — the world-renowned developer behind iconic global landmarks like the Burj Khalifa,” the President stated.
“During our discussions, we finalised exciting plans for a massive new investment in premium hospitality, bringing world-class luxury hotels to our country. Mr Alabbar and his executive delegation will be arriving later this September to conduct site inspections and finalise the project details.”
President Mnangagwa emphasised that the strategic partnership will generate thousands of jobs, stimulate local business growth and firmly position Zimbabwe as a premier destination for international tourists.
The breakthrough engagement was facilitated by Special Advisor to the President on Investment and Empowerment, Dr Paul Tungwarara, whom the President praised for driving economic diplomacy and securing major international partnerships.
“This momentous engagement was seamlessly arranged and coordinated by my Special Advisor on Investment and Empowerment, Dr Paul Tungwarara,” President Mnangagwa added.
“His dedication to driving economic diplomacy and bridging international partnerships continues to play a vital role in advancing our national vision. Progress is on the way!”
