ZIMBABWE’S participation at the ongoing 80th session of the United General Assembly here in New York has opened opportunities for investors in the information, communication and technology sector, a Cabinet Minister has said.
ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera says Zimbabwe has managed to attract investors in the critical sector.
“We had conversations with two companies who want to invest in cyber security and artificial intelligence. We are happy that we came to the General Assembly as this has created opportunities,” she said.
“The thrust we are going to take is on connectivity
and improvement of digital skills among our youths.”
The integration of ICT into crime prevention and investigation strategies has provided solutions to management of crimes.
However, the same technology has presented challenges in the form of cyber crimes.
Investment in this sector, therefore, ensures that the use of ICT tools adheres to ethical standards and respect the right to privacy.
