THE Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) executive director Mrs Polisile Ncube Chimhini has left the organisation, bringing to an end a career spanning more than three decades.
In a statement, the ZIMURA board said Mrs Chimhini is leaving to pursue other professional interests.
“This follows a period of engagement and reflection, during which Mrs Chimhini indicated her intention to pursue other professional avenues after many years of dedicated service to the association and the broader intellectual property sector,” reads the statement.
“Over this period, she played a pivotal role in shaping the association land advancing music copyright administration in Zimbabwe and beyond.”
Mrs Chimhini, the association added, represented Zimbabwe with distinction on regional and international platforms, and notably served as chairperson of the CISAC African Chapter.
“The board acknowledges and appreciates Mrs Chimhini’s immense contribution, institutional knowledge and technical expertise, which have been instrumental in the growth and visibility of ZIMURA over the years,” reads the statement.
“The transition is being managed in a structured and professional manner.”
