Nguru, Mbanga set to miss amateur tourney

Takudzwa Chitsiga Sports Reporter
BULAWAYO Country Club will host the Matabeleland Amateur Golf Championships tomorrow, the first tournament after top players Clive Nguru and Christian Mbanga turned professional.
The majority of the country’s leading amateur golfers will be part of the field in Bulawayo as the race for Eisenhower Trophy selection continues.
Stuart Krog is the star attraction going into this tourney.

Krog did not play at the Roland Park Open in Zvishavane last week.

Steven Simukai of Hwange Golf Club was the winner at Rowland Park but Krog retained top spot on the order of merit.
The Matabeleland Amateur tourney will be a 72-hole contest with 18 holes being played tomorrow, 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 holes on Sunday.
